Rookie skate was a success for everyone!

Posted: September 9, 2014 in Uncategorized

Saturday and Sunday Sept 6 and 7 almost 200 first time Timbits took to the ice for their orientation skate. The skate was as much about welcoming instructors, parents and players as it was about determining the basic level of skating. The players were amazing. They all tried so hard to do their best. I was surprised by the overall skating ability of the group. While there were a few tears – there were fewer than I expected. This was in no small part due to the patience and support of the instructors. They made a huge first impression. Just wait to see what they will be able to accomplish.
Our next practice is Sept 20 at Merivale. Bench reps will be emailing parents to let them know the time of their team’s practice.
We had planned A PARENT MEETING FOR ALL PARENTS SEPT 11 AT WALTER BAKER. THIS SEEMS TO BE THE SAME NIGHT SEVERAL SCHOOLS ARE HAVING THEIR “MEET THE TEACHER NIGHT” SO THE DATE HAS TO BE CHANGED. I ASKED FOR A DATE THE FOLLOWING WEEK BUT HAVE NOT RECEIVED A CONFIRMATION FROM THE CITY.
