Practice Outline SATURDAY FEB 7, 2015 Bell ARENA 3-7

I AM EXCITED TO GET BACK AFTER A WEEK WITHOUT TIMBITS

Watching games there are obvious things to work on: Passing, Lifting sticks to get the puck, using the boards  and Skating away from contact.

WARM UP : Skate with pucks

ALL IN

Fast as you can

Together apart forward and backward

One knee touch at every line

Stop at every line

Transition at every line

Superman

6 STATIONS                      NEED 4 NETS

  1. Triangle drill with three players – one behind the net two out front ,

Focus: Puck starts behind the net, pass, pass shoot

  1. Pass, pass shoot

Focus: Instructors on both sides of the net, two players can go at once

  1. Pylon skate WITH PUCKS (Down the blue line)

Focus: Slow it down and keep the puck under control while still using the stick to bring them around the pylon.

  1. Offside drill from red line to net down one side

Focus: “PUCK IN FIRST”  “IF THE PUCK COMES OUT YOU COME OUT”

  1. Three puck rapid fire drill

Focus: Rapid transition – shooting three pucks into the net  USE SMALL NET

  1. Use the boards!

Focus: Move the puck past the orange bucket using a bounce off the boards

Goalie training (Net in crease)

GAME : Wiffle ball dodge ball!
