IP2 Practice Plan Saturday Oct 1, 2016 Bell arena 3-7 Practice 2

I only have one hour between arenas so set up will be tight!

Overall goals:

  1. Power in the push with both feet
  2. Puck handling
  3. Stopping
  4. Backward skating


WARM UP – skate with pucks


Fast as you can x 2

One, two, three  – glide

2 knee drop at every line

RED BULL OVAL SKATE through gates



  1. Stopping “throw your bum” – BOTH SIDES
  2. Backward skating “PUSH WITH YOUR TOES”
  3. Figure 8 skate STEPPING OVER at the turn
  4. One foot push with TALL pylons and ringette rings
  5. Bounce the puck off the tires – forehand and backhand
  6. Through the buckets stick handle and shoot

WRAP UP  3 cross ice mini games with 6 nets
